MORI KOUGEI OPEN FACTORY

Thank you very much to everyone who visited the MORI KOUGEI Open Factory, and to everyone involved in making the event possible.

Although the preparation period was very short and this was our first attempt at hosting such an event, we welcomed far more visitors than we had imagined.

We were able to introduce our materials (wood veneer), manufacturing processes, machinery, and artworks directly to everyone who came.

For the first time, we also held a workshop using the factory’s hot press machine, where participants experienced creating our signature “Rays Pattern” using wood they selected themselves.

“KITE MITE MII TOKUSHIMA” featured open factories at all nine participating companies, and we heard that each venue welcomed many visitors.

The talk reception held at BANDAI CAFE on the evening of November 8 also exceeded its expected capacity.

As we usually spend most of our days focused on production work, having the opportunity to speak directly with people who were genuinely interested in our work was deeply encouraging.

Today, when so much information is experienced online, we strongly feel that the luster, texture, and atmosphere of wood products are difficult to fully communicate through photographs alone.

We hope that being able to experience the actual materials and products in person helped visitors gain a deeper understanding of veneer craftsmanship and Tsukiita products.

Although the machines will not be operating, we will once again hold our annual in-factory exhibition on December 30, where visitors can experience a wide variety of MORI KOUGEI products and artworks.
