Successor Internship Program Now Accepting Applications _ Nippon Teshigoto Zukan
We are pleased to announce that MORI KOUGEI will host an internship as part of the “Successor Internship” program planned and operated by Nippon Teshigoto Zukan.
MORI KOUGEI is a workshop specializing in tsuki-ita veneer application, founded in 1953.
For nearly 70 years, we have continued our work of applying paper-thin natural wood veneer to substrates such as plywood, bringing out the natural beauty of wood to its fullest.
Tsuki-ita veneer application is a technique that supports a wide range of craftsmanship, including furniture, interiors, architecture, and craft objects.
By combining natural wood and creating new expressions as if “drawing” with wood grain, this work is a world where both craftsmanship and design come together.
In recent years, while making use of the techniques we have cultivated over many decades, we have also begun developing and producing our own original products.
MORI KOUGEI products are gradually reaching not only customers in Japan, but also overseas markets such as Singapore, the United Kingdom, the United States, and France.
Through this internship, we hope participants will have the opportunity to experience the work and philosophy of MORI KOUGEI firsthand at our workshop, while learning about the craft of tsuki-ita veneer application, life in Tokushima, and the future of craftsmanship.
