A Special Experience at “KITE MITE MII TOKUSHIMA”

This autumn, MORI KOUGEI CO., LTD. (Suehiro, Tokushima City) will hold a special open factory event where visitors can experience the world of craftsmanship firsthand.
We will open our workshop — usually not accessible to the public — and offer a unique program where you can discover wood materials and traditional veneer craftsmanship.

Explanation & Live Demonstration — Discover the Materials and Process

During the “Explanation & Demonstration” session, you will have the opportunity to closely observe highly skilled woodworking techniques performed by our craftsmen.

You can directly touch and experience a variety of wood species collected from around the world.
A rare opportunity to handle thinly sliced natural wood veneer (“TSUKI-ITA”) in its raw material form.
Watch actual machinery demonstrations and learn about the manufacturing process of decorative plywood through easy-to-understand explanations.
Craftsmen will explain MORI KOUGEI’s unique marquetry techniques and specialized processes that cannot be experienced elsewhere.

By experiencing the materials firsthand and learning how products are created, visitors will gain a deeper appreciation and understanding of wood.

November 11 (Tue) 13:00 / 15:00 (Business visitors) — approx. 1 hour each
November 13 (Thu) 13:00 / 15:00 (Business visitors) — approx. 1 hour each
November 15 (Sat) 9:00 / 13:00 (General visitors) — approx. 1 hour each

Workshop — Create Your Own One-of-a-Kind Tray

We will also hold workshops where participants can create their own original tray using natural wood veneer.
Choose your preferred wood colors and combinations freely, and complete your work with support from our craftsmen.
The finished tray will later be completed with edge finishing and coating by MORI KOUGEI before delivery.

1. Rays Pattern Tray Workshop

Date & Time: November 15 (Sat) 10:00– (Approx. 1 hour)
Participation Fee: ¥12,000 (materials included)
Capacity: 8 participants

Create a simple and beautiful “Rays Pattern” tray using your favorite wood colors.

2. Free Design Tray Workshop

Date & Time: November 15 (Sat) 14:00– (Approx. 2 hours)
Participation Fee: ¥20,000 (materials included)
Capacity: 4 participants

A luxurious workshop where you can freely combine colorful wood veneers and create your own original design.
Our craftsmen will also support your design ideas to help bring your vision as close as possible to reality.

2nd Floor Gallery Exhibition

During the event period, visitors can also explore MORI KOUGEI products displayed in the 2nd floor gallery.
Visitors who do not require a guided tour are welcome to stop by freely between 13:00 and 17:00.
