MORI KOUGEI | 2025 Factory Pop-Up Store Announcement

MORI KOUGEI|2025 Factory Pop-up Store Announcement

December 29 (Mon) & 30 (Tue), 2025|9:00–15:00

At this year’s factory pop-up store, we are pleased to welcome C8SK Co., Ltd., who have long been involved in the product design of MORI KOUGEI, as a guest participant. Their brand ARIANT will also showcase stools and trays during the event.

Through the gentle intersection of MORI KOUGEI’s woodworking techniques and C8SK’s design perspective, these two days will offer a slightly different atmosphere from our usual factory setting — revealing a deeper side of craftsmanship and making. In addition, Monkey Coffee will join us on Tuesday, December 30, creating a relaxed year-end atmosphere for visitors to enjoy.

■ Highlights of This Year’s Event

1|Full Product Lineup & One-of-a-Kind Pieces

Products stored throughout our factory and warehouse will all be displayed together, including Rays Tray, PLATE, WOOD PLATE, and TSUKI-ITA SHEET. We will also exhibit many one-of-a-kind items and prototypes not listed online. Please enjoy the unique encounters available only during these two year-end days.

2|“Beautiful Imperfections” Available at Special Prices

To maintain the trust and quality of the MORI KOUGEI brand, we apply strict inspection standards. Even products with only tiny irregularities or slight scratches are sometimes withheld from regular sale.

Many of these items remain fully functional and are nearly indistinguishable from standard products.

Only during this year-end factory pop-up, these carefully selected “beautiful imperfections” will be available for purchase at special prices.

We confidently recommend them even to customers who value quality craftsmanship.

3|Exhibition with C8SK|Introducing ARIANT Products

C8SK Co., Ltd., who also collaborate on MORI KOUGEI product design, will participate in the event, exhibiting stools, trays, and other products from Tadashi Chiba’s brand “ARIANT”.

The relationship between MORI KOUGEI’s woodworking expertise and C8SK’s approach to form and structure has evolved together through many collaborative projects. This exhibition naturally expresses that relationship within the space, presenting new possibilities for wood as a material.

4|Exhibition of One-of-a-Kind Wooden Bowls by Hiroyuki Mori

I will also exhibit a large collection of wooden bowls that I personally create as a passion project. These are pieces that embrace the individuality and unique expression of wood, something impossible to achieve through mass production. This corner has become a favorite every year, including encounters with rare woods and distinctive grain patterns.

5|December 30 Only|Free Coffee by Monkey Coffee (First 50 Visitors)

With the support of @monkey_coffee_outdoor , free coffee will be served to the first 50 visitors on Tuesday, December 30. Enjoy the works with a warm cup of coffee in the relaxed atmosphere of the factory.

6|Annual Firewood Giveaway|TSUKI-JIRI Wood Offcuts

We will once again give away “TSUKI-JIRI” wood offcuts generated during production. This popular corner offers materials that can also be used as firewood.

[Additional Participation Announcement]
AWAJI Indigo Land Project (ONOKORO INDIGO) Joins the Exhibition

We are pleased to announce that AWAJI Indigo Land Project (Awaji Island) will also participate in this factory pop-up store exhibition.

https://onokoro.blue/

AWAJI Indigo Land Project has long supported MORI KOUGEI’s indigo-dyeing expressions as a partner deeply engaged with the process of working with indigo itself.

Rather than treating indigo simply as a “color,” they carefully continue the entire cycle — growing the plants from seed, producing sukumo (fermented indigo), dyeing, and connecting it to everyday life.

They call the indigo they cultivate “ONOKORO INDIGO”, creating products rooted in the character of Awaji Island and the circulation of human hands and craftsmanship.

About ONOKORO INDIGO|AWAJI Indigo Land Project

On Awaji Island — said to be the island where Japan began — they prepare the soil, grow indigo, dye textiles, and shape products, while sharing the process with local welfare workshop communities.

Vintage clothing and fabric remnants dyed with indigo are given new life through careful handwork, reborn as practical objects for everyday living.

We hope the small cycle of blue created through this process quietly accompanies peaceful daily life through these handcrafted objects.

Featured Product|“Re:Weave” Sacoche

This exhibition will mainly feature the sacoche series titled “Re:Weave”.

The front material uses vintage Champion Reverse Weave sweatshirts, hand-stitched with sashiko embroidery by members of local welfare workshops.

The unique texture of vintage clothing, combined with reinforcement and expression through handcraft, transforms the material into something with a completely new role.

Sewing is handled by Kobe Zack, known for manufacturing mountaineering bags. Based on their signature sacoche model, the bag is designed for durability and practicality.
