Branding the Material Itself to Share the Beauty of Wood
At MORI KOUGEI, we have specialized for decades in the processing of
decorative plywood and wood veneer (TSUKI-ITA) used in furniture,
architectural fittings, and interior materials.
The advanced techniques and deep understanding of materials cultivated through this work
have also been applied to our own craft pieces, which have been appreciated in a wide range
of spaces both in Japan and internationally.
Today, we have decided to take the materials themselves—backed by years of experience and craftsmanship— and present them to the world as a new material brand.
What is TSUKIT?
“TSUKI” comes from TSUKI-ITA (wood veneer).
“KIT” represents the starting point of creation—the tools and materials that bring ideas to life.
TSUKIT is a natural wood veneer material brand proposed by MORI KOUGEI.
We aim to deliver the beauty and possibilities of veneer to all kinds of creators:
furniture makers, architects, designers, craft artists, makers, and DIY enthusiasts.
A Wide Selection of Rare Wood Species for Creative Expression
The veneers offered through TSUKIT are the same authentic materials used in MORI KOUGEI’s own craft works.
Our lineup includes a wide variety of species—including many rare and hard-to-find woods—
with approximately 100 different options currently available.
Each sheet has its own unique grain, texture, and character, offering a one-of-a-kind quality that cannot be replicated through industrial materials. These natural variations add depth and individuality to every creation.
A New Option: Self-Adhesive Veneer Sheets
TSUKIT now introduces a new addition to its lineup:
self-adhesive veneer sheets for crafts and DIY projects.
By applying an adhesive backing to natural wood veneer, we have created a material that is
easier to use and accessible with only simple hand tools.
Maintaining the same quality used for furniture and musical instruments, these sheets offer an authentic natural wood experience that can be enjoyed simply by peeling and applying.
