[Pattern Type]

[Rays]

Wood appears different depending on the angle of light and the direction from which it is viewed. To make the Rays pattern, triangular pieces of veneer are arranged around the centre, creating the appearance of rays of light.

[Wood type (color)]

[Indigo dyed]

The distinctive Japan-blue colour is created using indigo from plants grown in Tokushima Prefecture. Dyeing brings out the wood's changing appearance as the light and viewing angle shift.
