Do not substitute another wood on the basis of its name
Hoxan pairs the heading Purplewood with the English name Morado, and this article follows that correspondence. The word purple alone is not grounds for reinterpreting it as purpleheart, a different trade name. Japanese and English timber names do not always map one to one, so knowing which source uses a name is helpful when choosing wood. Hoxan: Purplewood
Enjoy the range of brown tones
Hoxan describes pale whitish sapwood and reddish-brown to dark-brown heartwood. It notes the fine texture and attractive finished surface. Rather than searching for a color that matches the word purple, look at each sheet's reddish tones, depth of color and contrast with lighter areas to judge the actual material. Hoxan: Purplewood
When planning a design, compare a dark area at the center with a dark outline around a pale wood. In wood inlay, it can also offer tonal variation within a brown palette. Try aligning grain directions when color contrast should take the lead, or allowing a larger area when you want to show the grain itself.
Using it as a thin sheet
Our A4 product combines natural wood veneer with industrial washi paper in a sheet approximately 0.25 mm thick. It is a surface material for furniture edges, repairs and resurfacing on flat wooden substrates, small-object decoration and wood inlay. Descriptions of solid wood's durability or machining qualities should not be taken as claims of water resistance or easy installation for the paper-backed product. First use a template to select the area you need, then test the adhesive and finish on an offcut. Some application methods use an iron, but the sheet is not a self-adhesive sticker: the substrate and adhesive must also be prepared. Follow the product-page procedure and the requirements of the adhesive you use. MORI KOUGEI: A4 veneer sheet product information
