Granadillo is a timber name associated with colors from reddish brown to yellow and with varied patterns. Rather than substituting a similar-sounding wood name, we explore its character as veneer using our trade name and Hoxan's description.

Granadillo as a trade name

Hoxan's Granadillo entry places the timber in the Fabaceae family. It does not give a scientific name, so this article likewise does not assign it to a particular species. Instead, it describes the general timber characteristics associated with this trade name. Similar-sounding names are not, by themselves, a reason to treat other woods as the same tree. Variations in color, lines, and pattern

Hoxan gives the color range as reddish brown to yellow and notes individual variation in tone, pattern, and stripes. It also describes a heavy, hard timber with a luster when polished. Rather than expecting a consistent brown, look at the combination of ground color and contrasting tones when choosing an area to use. Hoxan: Granadillo

When introducing a patterned material, consider how much of it will be visible on the front of the finished object. A simple shape, such as part of a small box or frame, makes it easier to explore a grain-led composition. In marquetry, the light and dark ground colors could contribute to a motif or band.

Separating timber characteristics from a sheet's role

Granadillo's general weight and hardness describe solid timber. Our A4 product is intended to bring the appearance of that natural wood into a thin facing material. It is approximately 0.25 mm thick, with industrial washi paper backing on natural wood veneer, rather than a board that supports loads on its own. Choosing the part of the A4 sheet to use

Plan how to divide a 210 × 297 mm sheet by considering both the shape of the piece and how the grain will appear. Position paper templates and allow the necessary margins before cutting to preserve the areas you want. Consider it for decorative facing on furniture edges and flat wooden surfaces, refacing small objects, marquetry, and similar work. MORI KOUGEI A4 Veneer Sheet Product Information

Prepare a flat substrate and test the adhesive and finish on an offcut before beginning the final work. The photographs illustrate color and grain; they do not indicate that an identical pattern will arrive. Adjusting the layout to suit the actual color and pattern of your sheet is part of making with natural wood. MORI KOUGEI A4 Veneer Sheet Product Information
