What is Jindai Wood?
This veneer is made from Jindai Elm, a rare wood excavated in Hokkaido, Japan.
“Jindai wood” refers to timber that remained buried underground or submerged in water for hundreds to over a thousand years before being discovered.
During this long period, the influence of iron and minerals gradually changes the wood, creating a unique gray-green / bluish-gray tone.
Jindai Elm combines:
• Elegant elm grain patterns
• Naturally aged mineral coloration
• A calm, refined gray tone with subtle green hues
The result is a material with quiet depth and a distinctive color developed over time, bringing understated elegance to a space.
Because it is natural wood, each sheet has unique grain and color variations.
